Gap Analysis
Today I worked on a gap analysis of where I am now and where I want to be. Using Grok, I asked it to tell me about myself. The result is not completely accurate and doesn’t highlight my best skills, but it is pretty close. I wonder how one can influence their AI response profile?

It’s good to know what AI is saying about me as a baseline starting point. As an iterative test, I’m going to ask AI the same question each week for the next 90 days to see if and what changes.
I then asked Grok a series of questions about hiring and job matching based on my skills. It gave me a list of 9 companies (all financial firms). I narrowed the list down to three: Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Point 72. I then asked about the job descriptions and specific skills they were looking for and if any Carnegie Mellon Alumni were working in the quant role or on quant initiatives. Grok returned this list:

After I submit my job applications, my plan is to contact each of these individuals. I wonder what their opinion is about the type of person who would fit best for the open roles on their team? It’s my best practice to research who I’ll potentially be interviewing with prior to the interviews. I want to be prepared and have done my homework.
Now I’m starting to think about personas for my interviewers and potential interview questions, but first I need to do a skill gap analysis, so I know where my weaknesses and strengths are and what I can do to fill any gaps.
